why we built Illuminate + III Ventures Platform
I know what it’s like to move to a city because that’s where the opportunity is. To build a business and wonder if it will work. To hear hundreds of no’s while hoping for one yes.

Every move, every business, every yes and no helped shape my path.
​
As a CEO, I’ve often been the youngest person in the boardroom, the only woman, or both. I’ve seen talented founders struggle to get funding or be taken seriously. I’ve also seen how much a chance, and someone willing to help, can change things.
​
These experiences shaped the III Ventures platform and Illuminate Consult.
I wanted to share the opportunities that helped me and offer the support I needed but haven't always had.
​
Funding matters. So does knowing what to do next. Hiring a team, managing money, making a difficult decision. These are real responsibilities, and having experienced people beside you helps.
​
Through Illuminate, we work alongside founders and teams to make plans and carry them out. We bring our a great deal of institutional, start-up and real world experience, help build teams and systems, and stay involved as the business grows.
​
We don’t have every answer. We may have a lot of questions too. But we bring people who have done the work, been in the same seats, are honest about what they know, and take their commitments seriously.

I want more people, especially those too often overlooked, to have a chance to build, and support they can count on.
